Kobe City Museum
Located in a former foreign settlement, Kobe City Museum has collections of archaeological and historical materials, including the Sakuragaoka Bronze Bells and Bronze Halberds, which are collectively designated a National Treasure, as well as works of Japanese art created with influence from overseas countries from the 16th to the 19th centuries, glass items produced in the Edo period or later, and old maps made in Japan and abroad. Exhibitions of items selected from these collections are held under different themes. The museum also holds large-scale special exhibitions showcasing local and international history and art.
